Embryo Assessment Method

Time-lapse embryo imaging enables embryologists to monitor embryos continuously throughout their development.

An incubator equipped with an automated microscope captures images of the developing embryos at set intervals during the 2–5 days of culture.

The images are then analysed using specialist software, which can support embryo selection by ranking embryos according to their developmental potential.

Advantages of Time-Lapse Embryo Imaging

1. The time-lapse system minimises disturbance to the embryosby capturing images at regular intervals without removing them from the stable incubator environment.

2. It can improve the selection of embryos with the greatest implantation potential.

3. 3. It identifies the precise timing of key developmental stages as they occur.
