Sperm Cryopreservation
Sometimes in some pairs, sperm freezing is also recommended. In these cases the freezing of the sample is carried out using a suitable solution, which protects the sperm during freezing.
Sperm cryopreservation may be recommended:
– for men with oligozoospermia or semen parameters that may vary over time;
– before chemotherapy or radiotherapy;
– when a man has difficulty producing a semen sample or will be unavailable on the day of egg retrieval;
– when sperm quality is progressively declining.
