Definition of infertility
Infertility is defined as the inability of a couple to achieve conception and have a child after at least one year of regular sexual contact without contraceptive protection. Procreation and the creation of a family are considered the right of every person and what must be emphasized is that infertility is a problem of the couple as a whole and not only of the woman, as was considered in the past.
Nowadays, 30% of couples of reproductive age – even at ages 30-40 – have an infertility problem.
In about 20% of these couples, after a medical investigation, they are found Problems in the man or the woman which can be treated or corrected, while in the remaining 10% the cause of infertility is not found or the cause is unknown (idiopathic infertility).
