Mini IVF

MINI IVF, or mild IVF, is a milder approach to assisted reproduction, based on the use of lower drug doses than classic IVF. Its goal is not necessarily the production of a large number of eggs, but the collection of fewer and probably better selected eggs, with less medicinal burden for the woman.

The method can be an option for women who want a more natural and gentle procedure, for cases of low ovarian reserve, for older women or for couples who do not respond satisfactorily to high doses of arousal. The decision, however, must always be made individually, after a complete assessment of history, age, hormonal tests and previous attempts.

Advantages of MINI IVF

MINI IVF is usually associated with less drug use, less injections, a lower physical burden, and a reduced risk of ovarian hyperstimulation. For many women, it is a calmer and more manageable process, both physically and psychologically.

At the same time, because the approach is milder, it can be repeated more easily when needed, without the same intensity that often accompanies high-stimulation protocols.

In which cases can it be suggested

MINI IVF can be discussed in cases such as:

  • women with low response to arousal,
  • reduced ovarian reserve,
  • previous failed IVF attempts,
  • need for a milder pharmaceutical approach,
  • Desire to avoid intense hormonal stimulation.

However, it is not the right choice for all couples. In some cases, classic IVF may offer more possibilities, especially when a larger number of eggs or embryos are needed.

Personalized treatment option

Success in assisted reproduction depends not only on the type of protocol, but on whether the treatment is properly designed for the particular woman and the particular couple.

MINI IVF is an important choice within the range of fertility treatments, but it must be applied with correct criteria, realistic expectations and close medical monitoring.

If you are looking for a milder IVF approach or have previous efforts with low response, the MINI IVF can be an option that deserves to be individually evaluated. A specialized counseling can help you understand if it is the right method for your case.
