Hysterosalpingography

In our center we believe that the evaluation of the fallopian tubes should be part of the infertility research.

With the hysterosalpingography (salpingography) we basically evaluate the permeability of the fallopian tubes. In other words, we examine whether the trumpets are passable ("open").

About 15% of couples suffer from tubal infertility and this percentage is significantly higher in those suffering from secondary infertility, i.e. those who struggle to conceive after previous pregnancies.

Her assistance can also be valuable in cases of patients with continuous failed cycles where the existence of a "hydrosalpinx" is assumed.

The Hydrosalpinx is the concentration of fluid inside a clogged tube, which can leak back into the uterus and negatively affect the chances of implantation of an embryo or increase the risk of miscarriage. Once confirmed, the clogged fallopian tube will be surgically removed or blocked with a surgical clip to stop communicating with the uterus.

Some studies have further shown that there may be a short-term increase in the chances of a natural pregnancy following a hysterosalpingogram or a laparoscopy.
