Mini IVF
MINI IVF, or mild IVF, is a milder approach to assisted reproduction, based on the use of lower drug doses than classic IVF. Its goal is not necessarily the production of a large number of eggs, but the collection of fewer and probably better selected eggs, with less medicinal burden for the woman.
Advantages of MINI IVF
MINI IVF is usually associated with less drug use, less injections, a lower physical burden, and a reduced risk of ovarian hyperstimulation. For many women, it is a calmer and more manageable process, both physically and psychologically.
At the same time, because the approach is milder, it can be repeated more easily when needed, without the same intensity that often accompanies high-stimulation protocols.
In which cases can it be suggested
MINI IVF can be discussed in cases such as:
- women with low response to arousal,
- reduced ovarian reserve,
- previous failed IVF attempts,
- need for a milder pharmaceutical approach,
- Desire to avoid intense hormonal stimulation.
However, it is not the right choice for all couples. In some cases, classic IVF may offer more possibilities, especially when a larger number of eggs or embryos are needed.
